Hey there!
My name is Khadejah and I created this newsletter for the sole purpose of establishing closing the gap between storytelling and online writing.
With the rise of A.I. writing platforms mixed with how we all crave more and more views, crafting a well-written story and incorporating a valuable takeaway for the reader often gets lost in the sauce.
Storytelling has always been a HUGE part of my writing success online (e.g. Medium & Twitter). It has ALSO helped me get through tough times.
But first, here’s something you need to know about me:
Growing up, I was an introverted kid who didn’t really know how to channel my emotions.
That was until I discovered the awesome power of writing.
I used to write so much in elementary school that kids would sit near me and ask how there were so many words on one paper within 5 minutes.
I always dreamed of making a profit from my writing, but I could never figure out how to do it until I found a platform called Medium.
Before I found Medium, I failed a lot:
I cold-called 25+ businesses per day for freelance writing clients but no one wanted me
I had an anime blog that got 50 views in total on this Earth
I submitted poems for prize money with no answer-back
No publications wanted my work
So I challenged myself to publish one article per day on Medium for an entire year in 2020. In that time span, I became one of the top writers on Medium, I received 15k+ views per month on my work, and I earned thousands of dollars doing what I love.
How did I do it? By crafting my story in a way that:
Adds context, credibility, and interest for the reader
Provides a valuable takeaway that’s genuine
I headed over to Twitter to experiment with this idea (before the growth hacking started lol), and the same thing happened.
I also noticed that every time I would inject my personal story into an article on Medium, it would either go viral or at the very least, a few people would comment to say how much they resonated with what I wrote.
It taught me that the power of storytelling online NEVER dies.
So I’m here to share the hundreds of tips, tricks, and valuable insights I’ve learned on my 4+ year writing journey—focusing on storytelling.
Then, I’ll teach you how to make a profit from crafting your own story online and using it to help others.
Storytelling allows you to:
Add context to the advice you’re giving
Write out your emotions—therapy
Add a unique twist to the topic you’re writing about
Entertain the reader
Establish a real connection to the reader
