I'm so sad I can't had 50 likes to these!

So many writers would be saved by ditching these myths!

I have to play devil's advocate though. Algorithms can actually suck. Engineers are humans and the platform's incentives may not be aligned with the writers'.

But still, this is just a temporary problem. Change platform.

Haha, thank you Alberto! You make a great point with the algorithm thing. I guess my main thing there was not getting discouraged by it and staying consistent. It can be a slippery slope when we’re too worried about algorithms when we write. ❤️❤️❤️❤️💪

Bless you for sharing this. The art-form versus business thing has been a big problem for me productivity wise, to the point where my writing evolved/devolved to accommodate it. The business part in particular. I am currently struggling with the art part.

You've given me plenty to think about.

Hey Isabell, I totally understand what you’re going through. I think it’s that balance that I still struggle with today. I think it’s about knowing the right time to post certain content or promote certain things and when to use writing more as your emotional outlet. It’s awesome if you could combine the 2 more often, but it usually doesn’t happen like that, at least in my case lol. Hope this helps! ❤️💪💪💪

It does, actually. I was just debating about something I wrote the other day for this reason. Thank you so much!

The myth that I believed so hard is the first one where you think you need to be in anew platform to become a top writer. I was even beating myself for being late everywhere I go. But once I spent time more in a platform, I see completely new writers in a huge platform can do well if consistently put good content.

I love this Shanjitha and totally agree! I once thought that as well and wondered why I was always late to the party. Turns out, you can have nice growth on any platform if you can weather the storm. ❤️💪💪💪💪💪

I treat viral as having >100 views, which I've gotten 😂

Jokes aside, consistency is the key, but it may not be the answer. My notes sometimes get 10 views, sometimes 0 views, I don't attribute it to algorithms, the market (regardless crowded or not) or any other external factors.

I just have a simple goal --> write everyday

It's call attracting an audience rather than selling yourself.

Exactly Arica! This is a great mindset to have! If you write genuine, quality content, the audience will come themselves. It’s all just a matter of patience! ❤️💪💪💪💪💪

Exactly Kathy lol 😂 But I can’t lie though, when you’re a new writer, you kind of expect things to be a bit easier than they are lol. I thought the internet was easy 😂😂😂

Hahahha true!! A part of you do expect that, then you sit down, try to string words together and you’re like “oh shit” LOL

Love the 4 myths you just shared. Can totally resonate with them.

The Story Crafters Club sounds really fun!
