I do feel this way as well. And as you insinuated, it’s not an ego thing. Some people find writing easy, some find it to be a chore. I find it not only easy, but fun and therapeutic. I spend too much time on editing I think, as I have perfectionist tendencies. But I’m working on that lol
Ya I totally agree William! Some people just love writing because of how it makes them feel while it’s mostly busywork to others. There’s definitely something to that! I totally get you on the editing part too haha! Thank you so much for reading William and I’m so glad this resonated with you! :)
I feel exactly the same, William. I also started wondering about how much the more structured writing advice out there is sometimes a bit counterproductive for the ones that have the natural tendency towards writing. Like that it fuels the perfectionists tendencies!
I could imagine that it relates to what is known as "Epigenetics" - like how the environment we grow up in can turn on/off some genetical aspects. And maybe with skills and talents, it is a bit like there is a pre-genetic/personality disposition, and then it depends on how this is nurtured (or even turned into some childhood coping mechanism).
This is an awesome point Fabienne! I learned about this a bit through some anthropology classes I’ve taken! This is so true! Always a pleasure hearing your great knowledge! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Exactly John! Maybe genetics is a bit much lol, but there is something to be said about having a natural ability to write quality stuff. Most of it’s practiced, but some of it requires innate skills as well. Thank you so much for reading ❤️💪
Genetics seems abit much for a mental thing. Work that involves a physical aspect, I get that. But mental work seems, to me, to be more about how creative we were allowed to be growing up and if the environment nurtures it, one way or another. Either way, the path is shaped by what we have seen before. Fascinating idea, though.
That’s a great point Isabell! Never really thought about that. I’ve always felt that writing is 90% mental work and consistent practice, but I do feel like there’s 10% that requires some innate ability. Writing just may not be easy for people no matter how hard they try and I think there’s something to be said about that. Just a thought. But I get where you’re coming from! Thank you so much for this comment and for reading! ❤️💪
Who knew writing could be genetic? Such an interesting and relatable piece. Like you, I've walked those shoes. I tried my hand at more courses than I can count—cybersecurity, data analysis, project management, digital marketing—all while feeling like I was auditioning for a role in "The Perpetual Exhaustion Show." But with writing— I found my own slice of joy!
That’s awesome Dawn! Ya, I’ll always be the first one to say that writing is 90% hard work and consistency, but there is an innate ability people need when it comes to writing and some don’t have it which is why they quit. It could be as simple as being able to type super fast or knowing how to make things entertaining. Thank you so much for this comment and for reading Dawn! ❤️💪
So true somethings just hit different. One thing that feels natural to me might not make any sense to someone else.
Exactly Melanie! I totally agree! Thank you so much for reading and I’m so glad you resonated with this! :)

Exactly! I have to just tell myself that if people get your point, the verbiage doesn’t need to be perfect
That's absolutely true!
I can't speak to genetics, but what I do know is how we are exposed to reading and writing at a young age has a lot to do with it.

This was such an interesting perspective. But you have a point; especially the 90 day thing.
Thank you so much Bee! :)
You’re welcome!
This is the light bulb moment for me. Its not in my DNA so why push it? Do something that interests me and I will succeed in the long run.
Exactly Mubina! Never force things that don’t feel natural! Thank you so much for reading! :)
I'm not talented on this side, I'm just working hard.
Hard work can definitely work harder than talent Jihyun! :)
This resonate with me very well. I love your writing, it flows naturally
Thank you so much for reading Al! I’m so glad this resonated with you! ❤️💪
