It's so easy to fall into the perfectionism trap! Articles like this are always helpful.

If you use AI, you can dictate very good first drafts talking freely.

Thank you. I'm using your post as a guide and shared your post with a friend recovering from GBS. Sending my list of daily ideas prompts, too, in hopes she will start Substacking and possibly start posting. 4 years ago, almost paralyzed completely from the neck down. Three years in hospital, working every day to gain function with the nerve connections, lots of prayers, OT, PT, she is able to use her hands and feet! The ankle nerves are coming to ...getting around is still a challenge, but she is making it.

Wow Nancy, you have no idea how much this comment means to me! Thank you so much for this! Very sad to hear what happened to your friend, but I’m glad to know she’s recovering! It sends a tear down my eye knowing how much writing can impact others. Hopefully your friend can join us on Substack one day! Tell her I send well wishes for her recovery and to never give up! :)

Helpful to know how much time is reasonable with someone who is experienced. The only thing I do differently is I free flow my ideas and thoughts in audio notes that way my typing doesn’t slow me down, I’m not tempted to edit or change anything. Free flowing with audible to notes, helps me capture the essence of what I’m trying to say, and at the same time staying in the flow.

This is a great perspective Mark! I never really thought about audible notes because I wasn't always the best speaker and I always felt like I stumbled over my words lol. But this is a great tip for writers who prefer audibling their content! :)
